SESSIONS AND FUNDING
We are a term time only setting. We offer 2 year funded places, 3/4 year old funded places (both 15 & 30 hours) and paid for sessions. Please look at childcarechoices.gov.uk for information on funding/tax credits.

OUR GOALS
Provide high quality care and education for children between the ages of two and five years. (government funding for 2-3 yrs and 3-5yrs).
Ensure that each child and their family are valued and respected as individuals.
Encourage self-confidence and self esteem, to promote independence, to promote positive images, to have respect for others, the setting, the environment and the world around us.
Work within a framework ensuring equal opportunities for all children and families.
Welcome the participation of parents and operate an open door policy, which facilitates open communication and a strong relationship.
Provide a stimulating safe, secure and caring environment with a wide variety of suitable and appropriate resources, opportunities and experiences helping the children through the Early Years Foundation Stage, whilst maintaining a happy environment with an emphasis on fun!
Committee
Our Pre-school is run by a committee made up by a wonderful group of voluntary parents and carers. The Committee is responsible for setting pre-school's policies, managing and engaging staff, fundraising and organising social events.
Being a member of the Pre-school committee is an enjoyable and worthwhile experience, giving you as a parent/ carer a greater involvement in the vitally important early stages of your child/children's education.

Baby and Toddler Group
We run a wonderful baby and toddler group on a Tuesday morning at Brayton Community Centre. All welcome for a cuppa and a chat. 9.45 to 11.15 Term Time Only.

SONYA WILSON
Manager
Sonya likes zumba, yoga, going on bike rides and running. Sonya has three children, a husband and a dog called Buddy. At the weekend she enjoys spending time with her family, walking the dog and going out for meals. Sonya’s ideal day would be walking in the Lake District and stopping for a nice meal in a country pub. Sonya has worked in childcare for over 16 years and has been at Busy Bees 14 years. Sonya has been the manager since 2015 and holds her level 3 qualification and first aid certificate.
BEV FRANCIS
Deputy Manager and Safeguarding/Early Help lead
Bev is married and has a daughter, two sons and a granddaughter.
At weekends Bev likes to watch her sons play rugby and football and enjoys spending time at her caravan, where she likes to go for nice walks and meals out.
In her spare time Bev enjoys looking after her granddaughter and being with her family.
Bev has been in childcare for over 15 years and holds a level 3 diploma in pre-school practice and holds a first aid certificate
SOPHIE LONSDALE
Practitioner
Sophie is a wife and mum to two young children. Sophie likes spending time with her family and her dog at the caravan. Sophie’s ideal day is driving down to the coastal town of St Ives in Cornwall, once down there they spend time on the beach and surfing in the sea. Sophie has been in childcare for 8 years and holds her level 3 qualification and first aid certificate.
LYNDSEY GREEN
SENCO
Hi, I am Lyndsey. I am the Senco in the setting. As well as playing with the children I also support children who may require additional guidance and/or refer children who need further support from specialist teams such as Speech and Language Therapist. I have worked in childcare for over 10 years and hold a Level 4 qualification in Childcare and a current First Aid Certificate.
I have two sons who are both into football and spend most of my free time taking them to and from training and matches. My ideal day would be walking along Hadrian’s wall with my family.

LAUREN PURNELL
Practitioner
Lauren is mum of two children and loves to spend time with her family and enjoys family weekends. Her ideal holiday would be somewhere hot relaxing by the pool.
Lauren has worked in childcare since 2012 with a Level 3 qualification and First aid certificate. She also runs the baby & toddler group on a Tuesday morning.
KIM WESTWOOD
Practitioner
Kim has 3 children, 2 daughters and a son. Her ideal day would be visiting her family caravan and taking long walks on the beach with her husband, dog and children.
Kim has a level 3 qualification and is passionate within her job role. Kim has a first aid certificate.
PAULA POSKITT
Practitioner
I am called Paula and I live in the Selby area with my husband and two grown up children.
I enjoy going away in the caravan, but my perfect day out is when we are all together.
I have been an early years practitioner for over 12 years and I am very passionate about supporting children in reaching their goals. I have completed my level 4 Makaton training and hold a level 5 childcare qualification and first aid certicate.
